Seaside Goldenrod (Solidago sempervirens) is an indigenous plant in the sunflower family.  The species is well adapted to coastal habitats along the east coast of the United States. Goldenrod blooms on the beach, salt marsh and in sandy dunes midsummer into autumn, and helps prevent erosion.  Seaside Goldenrod is a vigorous bloomer, producing a large amount of nectar and pollen that supports a number of species, including the migrating monarch butterfly.

The Goldenrod Foundation operates projects from its field station situated on a barrier beach in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
