A four-wheel drive vehicle or an all-wheel drive with decent clearance is necessary to go the 1.5 miles from the end of the main parking lot along Ryder Way to the Goldenrod field station.

In the fall, winter and spring, you do not need a permit to travel on Ryder Way.

From the Friday before Memorial Day throughLabor Day, you must have a beach permit from the Town of Plymouth or a Visitor Parking Permit from Goldenrod to drive on Ryder Way. If you have a permit from Goldenrod, the only place you should park on Ryder Way is at the field station.

If you are walking to the field station, you can walk on the beach at low tide, or on the road. There are some areas of deep sand on the road, so wear a suitable pair of shoes.

If you are carpooling with someone who has a four wheel drive vehicle, meet them at the north (far) end of the main parking lot, at the beginning of Ryder Way.
