Shorebird expert and Goldenrod Foundation advisory board member, Brian Harrington, will educate participants on how to survey shorebirds. He will cover survey techniques, how to estimate numbers, shorebird identification and more. This will be an excellent introduction for people who wish to contribute to shorebird studies through citizen science or adopt an area for the International Shorebird Surveys. For those already doing surveys, this 2-hour class will serve as a good refresher.

The class is free and will be held at 204 Long Pond Road, headquarters for Southeastern MA Pine Barrens Alliance (SEMPBA).  Since it runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., feel free to bring your lunch and eat during the class. Part II is a field trip to be held at Plymouth Long Beach on August 26. Click here for more details about the field trip. Scroll down to sign up for the class.
